Working closely with a beloved community business, neighborhood stakeholders and The City of Half Moon Bay through study sessions and presentations we were able to achieve unanimous planning commission approval on the first attempt. By diligently explaining and investing participants in the design process, decisions became transparent and the benefits to the community became apparent. The initial need was to utilize the site behind the historical victorian residence, currently serving as a bike shop, to create a new commercial space where the bike shop can operate more efficiently. With a basement, apartments above as well as a cafe and offices in the victorian the city will have a sustainable, vibrant resource for generations to come.
