MedVentures
Emeryville, CA
A venture capital firm that specializes in medical investments. The challenge was a long entry hall, existing building infrastructure. The program was individual partner offices, conference room, and support space. The charge was to create a space of interest that reflected the dynamic nature of the industry. This was achieve through framing the infrastructure as residual building language regardless of the functional layout and thereby turning it into a positive. Varying use of material and paint colors, aluminum reglets, colored light pockets and one of the first uses of U-Channel glass in the Bay Area was a particular challenge with customs and the local building department. After opening they enjoyed a great deal of success and we were asked to envision an addition to the space in order to add another partner. In association with Roland Lazzarotto (GLP).
