Altos Residence
The seed started us down a path. We couldn't help but to proceed despite the lack of a client. The potential was too attractive to resist. The idea was that a glass house facing the street, yet perched a few feet above, would be transparent through to the pool. To provide for additional FAR and bedrooms we overlaid a transparent volume perpendicular to the street with views of the pool and the hills. While on-site exploring the dynamics of the site and the surrounding neighborhood the desire was to elevate the focal corner of the site from both inside and outside of the site for a elevated view and standing.
